Counting Carpet Flowers

Long sleek brown hair and bangs
The hair I always wanted
I envy people on whom
The colour white looks good

Looking in the mirror I wish
I could change the channel
And the scales, they didn't give me the applause
I was hoping for
The elevator in my mind brings me one floor down

I drink lemonade and
I count the flowers on my carpet
I sprinkle them with lemonade
Cause I'm hoping that they finally will grow

I set up a growing contest
Between the plants and my hair

Then the floor started to crack and the carpet lifted me up
In the air
Really? Flying on a carpet?
I don’t even believe it myself, how should I convince others?

From above we don’t look very different
We look almost the same
Even though we want to be so authentic

How authentic do you really want to be
If you have to read in magazines about how to achieve it

But don't worry you cannot be too different
Because you are all human beings
You are already the same,
Vou will look the same in the end from above

Why not permit myself to be as
Individual, eccentric and different
As I need to be
To feel comfortable and free?

From this height
I started thinking about ants
Working as a team diligently and peacefully

They all look the same
And they all have their individual task
Cause not everyone is made for the same
